These are the recent happenings in and about Crinos that may be of
interest. Some of this may be IC, some OOC, and the distinctions should be
obvious. :) Generally, most recent happenings are listed first. Think of this as
a loosely-organized and vaguely updated bulletin board. If you have anything you
want to add here, just email or
+mail@AmberMUSH it to me, with a note indicating what it's for.
NOTE: Yes, this is woefully out of date. It's a historical
reference at this point, alas. Some day it may be updated.
- Brusticai Ses'Reidla dies! (SteamCharger)
Tue Feb 13
- Several days ago the Ses'Reidla, Kilika Three-Eyes, fell in combat. She had
nearly eclipsed the old record of forty-seven accepted challenges, a holy number
of the Brusticai from tales passed down from so long ago that the Ses'Reidla's
name who set the mark has long been forgotten. Kilika lasted forty-four. The new
Ses'Reidla is a painfully young, skimpy, but tough mare, named Flankchaser. From
the wounds she had suffered in the challenge there is a chance she may not live,
which has brought up serious rumors of war and fresh challenges. The plains in
fact are scene to many bloody skimishes between SteamCharger's herd and several
smaller ones, as he is the only Reidla to support the new Ses'Reidla so far.

- Rainfire's Venator return (Lilia)
Wed Feb 7
- An odd caravan made its way from the shadowpath in the mountains to the
Venator village -- of the 48 Venator that Rainfire took away to fight in the
battle in her far-away land, 30 returned, leading three covered wagons, from
which the clink of metal could be heard as the wagons travelled. Sadly, the
returning Venator also bore the bodies of their fallen -- 4 in number. 14 of the
Venator Rainfire left with have decided to stay with her, at least for now. The
returning Venator bring back many stories of their bravery in battle, and the
stories of the lands they've travelled to -- most notably Anthuran, where they
fought. They also bear proudly the weapons and armor they brought back, metal
swords, axes, knives; and piecemail chain and scale armor.

- Brusticai Challenges (SteamCharger) Thu
Jan 25
- The rumors of challenges to the Brusticai's dominant herdleader, the Ses'
Reidla, have begun to fill out as the Moot ends. Kilika Three-Eyes apparently,
according to the stories so far, defeated seventeen challengers, seven in one
day (although this may be slightly exaggerated, as all these combats took place
deep in the private confines of the Brusticai camps). Several of these were herd
leaders - Lionhunter and Rilao Mare-Born notable warriors that fell; only two
survived to be crippled and cast out into the wilds; their bloodied hulks were
found a short distance from the Tear. They had killed themselves. The challenges
are far from over, though, with a dozen combatants ready to test themselves
after the herds make their way back to the plains. The weary Ses'Reidla has had
her hands full with controlling the two leaderless herds she has created.
Strangely enough, one of the most obvious candiates in challengers was
Steamcharger, but he has apparently decided to hold his position as the leader
of one of the largest herds, despite pressure to present himself to Kilika for
combat. When asked for why he is not taking the opportunity.. he
characteristically snorts and does not volunteer a response.

- Moot's End (Luna) Wed Jan 24
- Well, the moot's ended on an optimistic note. The first Council of Tribes
formed from the Moot council. The tribes that are officially members of the
Council are Tenebrae, Venator, Terfin, Kei, Aeolae, Ursum, Brusticai, Mervain,
Ekli'in, Deicus, and Harcolin. Those Verdimm who comprised the Moot council
formed the Council of Tribes thusly: Every tribe that is a member of the Council
shall have one Voice for the Council, in matters of tribes, there must be a
majority of two Voices agreed to every one opposed (a 2/3 majority), for the
Council to take action. Four heralds were chosen to take word of what was
decided in the Council to those tribes who were not present at the final stages.
The Moot itself is breaking up, most tribes going home to their lands. Many
thanks to everyone who participated! If I get enough tylenol, we might
do it again sometime! :)
- Lilia visits Venator (Lilia) Sat Jan 20
- A visitor to the Venator village caused quite a stir -- word made its way
quickly to the Moot that Rainfire had returned to the Village, while Bearfist
was away -- in a strange and new dimoh form -- and had again taken nearly fifty
Venator away to do battle in a far-away land. Bearfist's reply to this news is
unprintable.
