Dea'Tor: The Powers of Fire
The Realm of Fire is ruled by Belinos, Lord of Flame. The Element
of Fire is usually learned by those who are most quick-tempered
emotionally: quick to anger, quick to for give, quick to chose a
course of action. It is arguably the most physically dangerous.
Warning: Taking Dea'Tor in conjunction with
Dea'Sil is a combination that should not be possible for the average
sane person. If you are thinking about doing this, make sure that you
mail Sol and make it very clear that you want both. He is
almost certain to say no without overriding IC reason. The
combination is simply too contradictory, and too powerful.
If one of them is your third power, he will be somewhat more amenable,
as at that point it's clear you are becoming a completist, which is
somewhat different.
RP Tips: Constancy is for wimps. It's possible someone could get you
to pick an opinion on something, but they'd have to get you to stay still first.
For a very good character example, try the girl in Real Genius
(watch it, you'll know who I mean), except that you can't be slowed down
by surprise for as long as she can. Insanity is good. Remember, once again:
fire is not good for living things. By embracing fire, you've had to learn
to think differently from everyone around you. Show it. Feel free to
get angry randomly a lot, but it's not a total requirement. Your moods,
for better or for worse, should be completely changeable and
unpredictable. Buy WAR. Use it at random.
Intrinsic Powers
- Awake: The Power of Shaping Flame.
You can get flame that is already there to do arbitrary things. This
includes getting very large, but it still consumes fuel, unlike the Power
of Flame. At this point, you become immune to normal flame, at least
for short periods of time (a few hours).
- Potent: The Power of Flame. This is about what you'd think
it is, except bigger. Sheets of flame. Towers of flame. Bolts of Flame.
Lots and lots of flame. At any reasonable tempurature (remember,
reasonable tempurature for a disembodied sheet of flame is pretty low:
thinks first degree burns, or light blistering, but enough to set
clothes on fire). As an added bonus, it doesn't affect you personally
unless you want it too. Have fun. Also, at this point you are immune
to flame for pretty much indefinate periods, although not to lava and stuff
like that.
- Master: The Power of Molten Flame. This is bascilly the
ability to give your flame partial solidity, i.e. you can now sprout lava.
You can't sprout nearly as much of it, but it can stick to people and
it's umpteen billion times hotter. This one's an insta-death, and
should be used only after checking death consent, as there's
not much else to it. If you want to, though, you can create molten
flame that is cool, or even cold. This is because it's not lava, in the sense
of molten rock, it's just partially solid flame. At this point you
also become completely immune to fire damage. Dea'Tor masters are
known to become recluses living in volcanoes.
