The New Moon: (Luna's Refuge): A time of great darkness and fear for Crinos, when Luna's light is not present to illuminate a traveller's way in the dark of night or visible in the light of day to comfort those in need. Many Crinosians believe that this is a time when Luna leaves the heavens to walk among Her children to judge them, others that it is when Luna rests, weary from Her time in the sky. All tribes have a different explanation or story for Luna's absence.
Magic under Luna's Refuge: All magic is weakened under the new moon, except for spells of anti-spirit and death, as well as those dealing with darkness and the night (i.e. A spell that prevents spirits from entering an abode, or a spell that evokes literal darkness over an area). The element of water is strongest this night and earth is at its weakest.
Crescent Moon: (Luna's Return at wax, Luna's Departure at wan): This is said to be the time that Luna either prepares to depart the skies or that She is returning to Her place in the heavens. Some believe that Luna is displeased with Her children at this time and is averting Her face, crying out for homage and retribution for wrongs done; though, few believe this.
Magic under the Crescent Moon: During this phase of Luna (waxing and waning), spells of divining and calling of spirits are strongest. The element of air is strongest and that of fire is weakest.
Half Moon (Luna's Gift at wax, Luna's Receiving at wan): During this cycle, Crinosians believe that Luna is turning Her attention toward all Her children and celebrations are held beneath this moon; more so than any other.
Magic beneath the Half Moon: Spells of every element are equally powerful on this night, though the element of earth is strong and that of water is weak.
Full Moon (Luna's Rage at wax, Luna's Peace at wan): This is a time of great magic, and it is said to be the time when Luna shares all that is Hers with Crinos.
Magic beneath the Full Moon: All magic is potent beneath this moon. However, spells of protection and healing are at their peak; near miracles can be performed by healers during this cycle. Fire burns strongest among the elements and air is at its weakest.
